Addison (12 yo) was found on the side of the road nearly dead.
This sweet girl only wanted to be loved and followed her Mother every where she went. Addie made quite a few human friends during her short time with the Pack.
Unfortunately, Addie never really could kick the infection she had when she arrived and peacefully passed away in her Mother's arms in April 2018.
Grey (12 yo) was pulled from the county shelter after the Sanctuary Founder saw a photo of him online. It was love at first sight. Grey loved walking the property and begging for treats. Riddled with arthritis and (we suspect) cancer, Grey left us in July 2018.
Pumpkin (15 yo) was found as a stray and brought to the county shelter. Due to an infection, her eye had to be removed. She also suffered from massive mammary tumors which required two labor-intensive surgeries. This little girl was a joy to have in the house. She enjoyed stealing all of the toys and guarding them in her bed.
Pumpkin passed away in December 2018.
Sophie (17 yo), The Pack's matriarch, was FULL of moxie! She was blind, missing her lower jaw and had mobility issues - none of which prevented her from running the house. One early Saturday morning in February 2019, Sophie peacefully passed away in her Mother's arms.
Dora (10 yo) - joined The Pack in August 2018 - found as a stray in Pasco Co. with a fairly significant heart condition. Dora enjoyed spending time with Kai (the Foster Mom's dog) and sunning on the property to warm her old bones. Sadly, one day in May 2019, her heart condition turned fatal and Dora peacefully passed away. Her frosty face is truly missed.
Violet (16 yo) arrived in July 2018. Surrendered deaf and blind, her owner suffered from dementia and sadly, Violet was neglected. She was the most gentle soul in the Pack. On September 23, 2019, Violet suffered a massive seizure which began the shutting down of her body. She was in her Momma's arms when she peacefully crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
Teddy (8 yo) arrived in September 2019 following a local shelter's last call plea. This handsome guy arrived with a massive cancerous tumor on his rear-end and a small one on his cheek. Following the removal of the masses, Teddy became severely anemic and the suspicion of cancer became even more real. Teddy was with The Pack for NINE DAYS before the decision was made to let him peacefully go. He had the most gentle personality and is greatly missed.
Mona (9 yo) was our resident ray of sunshine! Our short-squatty girl originally arrived in the house as a "foster." However, because of her various health issues - she remained at the Sanctuary so her health issues could be closely monitored and controlled. Mona was officially welcomed into The Pack in October 2019 but due to her various health complications, Mona peacefully passed away in her Momma's hands in February 2020.
Charlie (16 yo) joined The Pack in January 2019. His owner called him "old and boring" and planned to euthanize him when she changed her mind and surrendered him to the sanctuary. Weighing just under 5 lbs, he was our little man with BIG personality! Charlie went into renal failure and peacefully passed away in March of 2020.
Nala (14 yo) joined The Pack in May of 2019. Found as a stray in Pasco Co., this ol' beauty suffered from a multitude of health issues - including tumors, arthritis and horrible dry eye. She enjoyed nudge sessions with her momma...especially before bed. Nala peacefully left The Pack in March 2020 - succumbing to cancer.
Wilson was one of the first pups to join The Pack. He was blind and enjoyed being nuzzled on during Snuggle Sundays with our volunteer, Kathi. Wilson began having seizures one morning in April and peacefully passed away later that morning. He was 16 years old.
Charley (16 yo) joined in The Pack in August 2019. Surrendered to the Sanctuary by his owners, Charley was a delight to have in the house. Charley lived a wonderful life despite his significant heart murmur and neurological difficulty. Charley passed away peacefully in his momma's arms in August 2020..
Little Rock (12 yo) joined The Pack in May 2020. Found as a stray and never claimed by his owner or the prior senior rescue that had originally saved him - our "wolf" was welcomed into The Pack without issue. Sadly, this sweet pup struggled after an eye removal surgery. Every effort was made to help Little Rock recover he eventually, in his own way, told us it was time. He passed away in his Momma's arms in November 2020. His little tail wag will be missed.
Rocky (approx 15 yo) joined The Pack in November 2018 after being surrendered by his owners to the local shelter. There was piece of mind that this gentle giant was keeping watch over the front yard from his bed that laid next to the bedroom window. Rocky suffered a suspected stroke and peacefully left our Pack in March 2021.
Gilly (10 yo) joined The Pack in April 2020. Gilly arrived with mild congestive heart failure and mammary tumors that covered her abdomen which were eventually removed. Gilly was never too far from her Momma's side and was a favorite with the Sanctuary visitors. Taken to the vet when her coughing worsened, we learned the worst new possible. Gilly's chest had become consumed with tumors. Gilly, showered in hugs, kisses and lots of love, left our Pack in April 2021.
Leo the Rooster was found injured on his prior owner's property. Unable to walk and needed 24 hour care, we gladly accepted Leo into the sanctuary in January 2021. With a special "chair" made for him, Leo enjoyed staying on the porch "talking" to the other chickens that live on the property. Sadly, Leo's health began to fail and he left us in February 2021.
Found abandoned in his prior owner's front yard exposed to the elements and predators in the area, Rodney (approx 10 yo) arrived at the Sanctuary in December 2020. Rodney enjoyed his remaining "Golden Years" safely inside our home where he received copious amounts of fresh veggies, fruit, hay and grains. Also a sanctuary visitor favorite, Rodney would squeak in the morning demanding his morning hugs and kisses. Rodney left our Pack in May 2021.
Sparky (15 yo) joined The Pack in March 2019 because his owner no longer wanted to care for him. Timid at first, Sparky did not want to leave his bed. With lots of love and encouragement, he gained the confidence to roam the house and learned the sounds created when meals were prepared. Sparky's health quickly declined and he peacefully left our Pack in July 2021.
In February, Koda joined our Pack after his aggressive behavior prevented him from being adopted to an amazing family excited to shower him with love. We maintained the goal of giving Koda the best life possible and learn to help him through is triggers. Sadly, in August 2021, Koda suffered a massive seizure leaving him incapacitated. He was rushed to the emergency vet where he soon after passed away. He will be truly missed.
Linus (15 years old) was found as a stray in a local store's parking lot - barely able to walk. Linus arrived in a very sad state - diagnosed with, among other things, kidney failure, congestive heart failure and blind with both eyes completely atrophied due to his prior owner's neglect. All of this and he still had the perfect disposition! Linus peacefully left our Pack in September 2021.
Molly (12 yo) joined The Pack in May 2019. Molly suffered severe physical abuse and neglect at the hands of her original momma which resulted in her partial loss of sight and hearing. It took months for Molly to allow anyone to touch her without flinching. Because of this, Molly remained at the Sanctuary. Her favorite thing was running the property with the other dogs. Tragically, Molly was found unresponsive when her Momma came home from running errands. Rushed to the ER vet, it was clear Molly would not recover so the decision was made to help her cross Rainbow Bridge.
Benson Maxwell (est. 15 yo) joined The Pack in January 2020. Found as a stray in horrible condition, this little guy was very low-key. Nothing bothered him. Benson enjoyed napping in his bed under the dining room chairs. Sadly, in November 2021, Benson suffered a massive seizure rendering him incapacitated. Benson peacefully passed away surrounded by love and light.
Birdie Mae (est. 15 yo) joined the Pack in late October 2019. When her owner passed away, she was discovered in a hoarding situation with 25 other dogs. Birdie was her Momma's shadow in all things. When she had the energy, she would chase toys thrown in the yard. Her rightful spot was sitting in her Momma's lap and napping! Sadly, Birdie Mae earned her angel wings in December 2021.
Sherman (est. 11 yo) joined the Pack in late August 2020. Brought to our local county shelter as a stray - Sherman was deemed terminal and a rescue plea was sent out. With 56 minutes left in his final plea and no interest from any other rescue, Golden Ears welcomed Sherman into our Sanctuary. Sherman was pure sunshine! He was a fan favorite because of his kind personality and goofy walk. Many hearts were broken when Sherman peacefully left our Pack in June 2022.
Our beautiful Gracie Dell (est. 10 yo) was found as a stray in South Tampa. With no owner or rescue in sight, Gracie was given a euthanasia deadline. With five days left, Golden Ears welcomed Gracie into our sanctuary. From the moment she arrived, Gracie was very well-mannered and easy going. Gracie began having cardiac issues which were being medically treated. Unfortunately, Gracie left our Pack early Easter morning in 2022 on her own terms.
Pepe (13 yo) arrived at the Sanctuary in February 2020 and was immediately accepted into The Pack. Though small in size, Pepe had a HUGE personality! At the end of his journey, Pepe was no longer able to walk so we made sure he was involved in things going on the house. Unfortunately, Pepe began to signal that he was ready for his next adventure so the painful decision was made to give him his wings in March 2022. We all miss Pepe tremendously!
Cole (approx. 12 yo) joined The Pack in December 2018 - just days before Santa's arrival. Cole was deaf with extremely limited sight. He arrived in pretty sad shape and in desperate need of a dental cleaning. Cole suffered from a pretty serious case of allergies which negatively affected his skin and ears. Despite all of this, Cole always had a great personality and loved snuggling. In August 2022, Cole's health declined and the decision was made to give send him onto his next adventure.
In May 2022, we welcomed Rosie Belle into our sanctuary. Rosie was found as a stray in a neighboring county and her microchip information was outdated. This adorable low-riding Bassett Hound mix was estimated to be about 14 years old. She had a heart of gold and LOVED laying in the yard warming her old bones in the sun.
Our Rosie B. unexpectedly passed away in August 2022. She is genuinely missed.
Rusty Wendell (12 yo) joined The Pack in December 2020. Found as a stray behind a local Wendy's restaurant, Rusty enjoyed the good life being catered to by my parents.
For a little guy, Rusty is in fairly good health during most of his time in the Sanctuary. He sadly went into kidney failure and eventually passed in September 2022.

Beatrice joined our Pack in September 2021. Estimated to be about 10 years old, Bea arrived at the shelter infested with fleas and severely emaciated. When authorities found Bea in her owner's home, she was only 7 lbs - half of what she should have weighed.
Bea suffered from horrible neglect at the hands of her owner. She remained guarded most days but we gave her all of the space she needed. She had great days where she engaged with the Pack and others where she enjoyed being alone in her bed. Bea always enjoyed being groomed - she walked taller after every appointment.
In January 2023, Beatrice was found mid-seizure that never stopped. Rushed to the ER-Vet, every effort was made to bring Bea's body some relief. When nothing worked, it was determined Beatrice most likely was suffering from a brain tumor. Beatrice was surrounded by love as she peacefully passed away.
Harry (est. 18 yo) arrived at the Sanctuary in September 2021. This blind and very elderly dog was found as a stray. We worked well to ensure Harry had a good quality of life and we looked for ways to enrich mealtimes. Harry enjoyed snuggles and a bedtime treat of peanut butter on a nyla-bone.
We noticed Harry's quality of life beginning to diminish and while we could have put his through more testing and treatment - that simply would not have been fair to Harry. With the help of our vet, we said goodbye to Harry.
Rowan (est 12 yo) joined the Pack in October 2021 as a hospice case. When authorities were called, Rowan was found with 21 other dogs – having spent her entire life chained to a stake in the ground with no shelter and minimal necessities. She was severely arthritic, her teeth were awful but most concerning were the rotting masses found in several places over her body. The masses were removed and Rowan was given a cancer diagnosis.
Rowan was a tenaciously curious hound - most known for getting a chicken feeder stuck on her head! Rowan peacefully passed away in May 2023.
Toby James (11 yo) joined The Pack in August 2020 when he was surrendered to the local shelter because his owner was evicted. Toby's condition was tragic (emaciated, very weak and in desperate need of a dental). Toby James was a laid back little guy who enjoyed his meals. When his quality of life began to decline, the decision was made to let Toby James go. He was with his Momma when he passed away in May 2023.
Baby (a younger senior) joined The Pack in October 2021. Baby was the housemate to now Pack Angel, Nicky. This little low ridin’ beauty quickly adjusted to the house. Seen by our vet, Baby had a dental immediately scheduled resulting in a quite a few extractions. During Baby's stay, we were able to help her lose some weight, get her a much needed dental and keep her on the right medications to regulate her congestive heart failure. Unfortunately, Baby developed an inguinal hernia that was deemed inoperable. The hernia affected her bladder so the decision was made to let Baby peacefully pass in June 2023.
King (est. 10 years old) is a senior German Shepard surrendered to the local county shelter. His owner was no longer able to provide the care King needs since he is mobility is significantly minimized. King was fostered by a very kind family from July 2022 until his joined the Sanctuary in November 2022. During King's stay with us, he enjoyed sunset strolls in his stroller and the occasional morning ride for fresh air. King's mobility issues were a result of degenerative myelopathy, a fatal neurological condition similar to ALS. In July 2023, when King's quality of life began to diminish despite all efforts, the decision was made to give King his angel wings.
Zoe Zo (14 yo) joined The Pack in April 2021. This frosty-faced beauty was surrendered to the county shelter by her owner because she began going "potty" on the floor at night. Zoe lived an comfortable life filled with gourmet meals and plenty of love with her foster mom but when her quality of life began to rapidly decline, the decision was made to let give her a peaceful send off to The Rainbow Bridge on Seprember 11, 2023.
