The Golden Ears Pack

Annie Olivia

Annie Olivia

Annie Olivia

Annie Olivia (14 yo) arrived at the Sanctuary in October 2019.  Her new Momma happened to be at the local county shelter the day Annie was surrendered and it was love at first sight!  Once the stray hold was over, she was scooped up by her Momma and brought to her new home.  While this beauty has some skin issues and has had a few too many litters of puppies, she has a beautiful personality and has proven to be extremely gentle, loyal and smart.  It is wonderful to have her in the Pack where she can now enjoy her golden years!

Toby James

Annie Olivia

Toby James (11 yo) joined The Pack in August 2020 when he was surrendered to the local shelter because his owner was evicted.  Toby's condition was tragic (emaciated, very weak and in desperate need of a dental). Since arriving, he receives three small meals a day to safely increase his weight.  He enjoys snuggle time, wandering the property and has actually started wagging his tail with excitement!  Every day, Toby's eyes are brighter and he becomes more engaged with his Momma and The Pack!

Zoe Zo

Frida Ann

Zoe Zo (14 yo) joined The Pack in April 2021.  This frosty-faced beauty was surrendered to the county shelter by her owner because she began going "potty" on the floor at night.  How tragic!  Zoe is also living with my parents and, with doggie door access, she happily goes in and out to do her "business."    Zoe is fostered by a family member and is closely monitored for her heart condition and now kidney failure.

Frida Ann

Oliver "Ollie" Mac

Frida Ann

Frida Ann (est. 13 yo) joined The Pack the very same day as Zoe Zo (April 2021).  Frida arrived traumatized.  Her owner had unexpectedly passed away and Frida found herself (and her kitty companion) left at the local county shelter.    Frida suffers from congestive heart failure and is very timid.  She is given as much space as she needs to feel comfortable and happy with us.  As we understand, Frida's kitty friend was also adopted from the county shelter.

Ollie Mac (est. 11 yo) arrived at the Sanctuary in May 2021.  Found dumped over the backyard fence of a home near our home.  Registered as a stray with the county, no owner came forward and Ollie Mac was released to our sanctuary.
Ollie is a very friendly little guy and, despite how he arrived, is quite healthy.  Understanding Ollie was adoptable - we patiently waited for the right family to come along to adopt Ollie and they did!  In November 2021, Ollie Mac was adopted and now lives in The Villages!  He will always be an honorary member of our Pa

Rowan

Rowan

Rowan

Rowan (est 12 yo) joined the Pack in October 2021 as a hospice case. When authorities were called, Rowan was found with 21 other dogs – having spent her entire life chained to a stake in the ground with no shelter and minimal necessities. She is severely arthritic, her teeth were awful but most concerning were the rotting masses found in several places over her body.

After a bit of care, a visit to our vet confirmed Rowan was healthy enough to endure the mass removal surgery. In December 2021, the now necrotic masses were successfully removed from Rowan’s body. This beautiful hound now enjoys spending her days napping and when she’s awake…she’s enjoys getting into trouble!

Baby

Rowan

Dutton

Baby (a younger senior) joined The Pack in October 2021. Baby was the housemate to now Pack Angel, Nicky. This little low ridin’ beauty quickly adjusted to the house.  Seen by our vet, Baby had a dental immediately scheduled resulting in a quite a few extractions. Since her arrival, Baby has lost weight and now enjoys wandering the house and property looking for trouble.

Dutton

Ty (Tyson)

Dutton

Dutton (est. 13 yo) arrived at the Sanctuary in November 2021. Found as a stray, Dutton had urine burns on his belly from the urine soaked diaper he was found in. Named after his Momma’s favorite television show, Yellowstone, Dutton is FEARLESS! This little guy’s medical conditions include a heart murmur, a knee that pop out with every step he takes and he’s missing an eye. His pain is carefully managed but despite all of this – Dutton is a delight to have in our Pack!

Lucky doesn't come close to describing how we feel having Tyson in our Pack.  Estimated to be 8 to 10 years old, Tyson joined the Sanctuary in December 2021 following a horrific year in a rescue where dogs were neglected, abused...or worse.

The cause of Tyson's mobility issues is unknown but we suspect he was hit by a car and his finder never sought treatment.  Tyson LOVES being in his wheelchair and zooming around the property.  Whether he is in his chair or not, Tyson is never far from his Momma!

In October 2022, we asked the Universe and it DELIVERED!  While visiting local county shelter, we just knew our next Pack member would be tiny and pretty much a cotton ball with legs.  It was about one week later that Tilly was found as a stray and brought into the shelter.

Tilly has the BEST personality!  She is funny, friendly and VERY loving.  Overall, this little lady is in generally good health.  She has 2 or 3 teeth left in her mouth, aging eyes and a very low grade heart murmur.

King

Tilly Marie

Mackie

King (est. 10 years old) is a senior German Shepard surrendered to the local county shelter.  His owner was no longer able to provide the care King needs since he is mobility is significantly minimized.

King was fostered by a very kind family from July 2022 until his joined the Sanctuary in November 2022.

We believe King's immobility issues are a result of degenerative myelopathy, a fatal neurological condition similar to ALS.

We are currently working to perfect King's wheelchair that will give him the freedom he deserves to roam our property.

Boone

Boone (est. 15 yo) was brought to the shelter with his two puggle housemates after their owner unexpectedly passed away.  We took in all three puggles and found two amazing foster homes for Boone's housemates (Brady and Brooks).  Boone is the oldest of the three dogs and on a daily medication for comfort.  He has a super sweet nature and loves his treats and naps!
